For First Timers

Welcome, First Timers!

The NCE Conference is held Monday through Wednesday. Monday is a Preconference day, loaded with lots of interesting workshops from which you can choose. Tuesday and Wednesday are dedicated to our keynote speakers and sessions related to specific career fields designed around the following themes:
  • Best Practices
  • Collaboration and Partnerships
  • Planning and Management
  • Teaching Strategies
  • Technology and Tools

Vendor exhibits showcasing curriculum materials, fundraising opportunities, software/hardware and related services are displayed on Tuesday in the prefunction area and Ballroom. Prizes are available in special drawings from vendors.

Conference sessions take place at the Interstate Holiday Inn in Kearney. Many of the specialty workshops are held at various locations across the city, i.e.; ESU 10, UNK, Kearney High School, as stated in the program.

Attendance at last year's conference exceeded 500 attendees; therefore, it is important to make advance room reservations. Several hotels have special conference rates and are listed under the Housing/Lodging link of this site.

Chadron State and Wayne State Colleges will be offering the NCE Conference for three (3) hours of graduate credit. For more information on receiving credit please contact Dr. Patricia Arneson at Wayne State, paarnes1@wsc.edu or Ronald Burke at Chadron State, rburke@csc.edu.

Each registrant is asked to wear a conference name badge throughout the conference. Coffee and other beverages will be available starting at 8:00 am, and continuing throughout each day.
